Where Handmade Lives Again
My name is Clinton and twenty years ago, long before online shopping became part of everyday life in South Africa, my parents and I were deeply involved in the world of handmade crafts. We spent weekends at physical craft markets — creating, selling, and connecting. But even then, I knew something was missing. The market stalls were limiting. They offered only a few hours of exposure, a small audience, and no way for local makers to reach the customers who would truly appreciate their work.
I dreamed of building an online store dedicated to handmade goods, but at the time, the technology simply didn’t exist. Online shopping was still a novelty in South Africa, and creating such a platform was impossible.
Fast-forward to today.
After moving to Howick in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and seeing crafters repeating the same weekend market cycle, I felt the same old frustration — and the same vision came back to life. Technology had finally caught up. So, I did the research, found the right tools, and built what I wished we had two decades ago.
And that’s how HomeBizMall.co.za was born.
What We Do — And Why It Matters
Running an ecommerce store is challenging. Setting one up from scratch is even harder.
Most crafters don’t have the time, the technical knowledge, or the financial resources to hire expensive experts and pay ongoing support fees.
That’s where I come in.
I’ve streamlined the entire process — from platform setup and product imagery to shipping, email support, orders, branding, and a full medieval-village themed marketplace that celebrates a time when everything was handmade with care.
This allows the crafter to do what they do best: create.
And it allows customers to enjoy a professional, well-run shopping experience.

I’ve sifted through mountains of noise to find the truth, and what I’ve learned has shaped the tools I use today — including custom templates that help crafters present their products clearly, beautifully, and informatively.
